Through narrative and self-study,the back story of the researcher’s life as an educator with the biographical highlights of Jane Austen’s life and quotes from her letters were compared. Then narrative portraits were created of each of the participant teachers studied using theorized Austen methods and portraiture research models. These six portraits are based on interviews, researcher’s journal observations, and relationship reflections, and are compared and contrasted with some of Jane Austen’s archetypes from her novels. As a result, created teacher portrait archetypes were used to better understand the plethora of teachers that technology integration specialists are assigned to coach. Differentiated coaching methods for each of these teacher archetypes were then created for other TIS to incorporate into practice.
