This study uses data from documentary analysis, website analysis and twenty key informant interviews to analyze the organizational successes and challenges in knowledge mobilization, or KMb (the process of connecting research to policy and practice). Using a multiple-case design, this paper presents research on a university faculty of education, an urban school board, a professional teacher organization and, a non-profit organization. Findings from the study show that while organizations are engaged in KMb activities, greater effort and resources are required toward coordinating these efforts. The extent to which KMb is embedded in regular and ongoing organizational processes depends largely upon the integration with ongoing goals, structures and strategies of organizations.
