Utilizing pragmatic mixed methods approaches to study design and data collection, this research is an evaluative case study that examines the effectiveness and impact of co/autoethnography as a teaching tool to transform teaching candidate attitudes towards transgender and gender nonconforming students. Our findings are presented as a case study of the pedagogical practice of co/autoethnography between a former student and teacher pair to model self-reflexive practice to teacher candidates as well as model how relationships between a teacher and student from different backgrounds and cultures can be fostered and maintained.
