Two educators share their artistic practices within an art partnership that critically and creatively inquires into ways in which knowledge is presented, re-presented, and disseminated in scholarly venues. Increasingly, educational research and its modes of dissemination favor neoliberal pedagogical logics. This thrust is apparent in conference guidelines for proposals that ultimately determine what types of research and forms of distribution are possible. These rules are hegemonic norms acting as commonsense that maintain consensus and reproduction in relation to educational research. In order to reconsider these modes, rules, and guidelines as sites of struggle, this paper outlines how we employ artistic activism that is critical and political in nature moving towards Chantal Mouffe’s ‘artivist’ practices as radical politics against neoliberal logics.
