Engineering Transfer Students: Validation Experiences in Community Colleges

Abstract

Using the validation theory, we explored experiences of engineering transfer students in community colleges. We used qualitative methods and conducted two interviews with each of the 21 participants who have already transferred to a large research university. The findings of the study indicated that community colleges play a critical role in transfer students’ pursuit of engineering baccalaureate degrees.
