Abstract

The study examined my own practice in teaching music at the university level in Indonesia. My research design was a self-study methodology. Self-study is a new genre of research to the researcher and is also a new research paradigm in Indonesia. The data collection took place over a 16-week period and twenty-nine participants were involved in my study. Data collection included reflective journals, field notes, and open-ended questionnaire. The data were analyzed by coding, indexing, dating and labeling. Data presentation using descriptive analysis. Findings indicated that self-study helped me to examine my daily teaching and to make judgments and decisions to promote meaningful learning. It also helped me to become a more reflective music teacher educator
