Considerations for District Support for Coherent Implementation: Insights From Case Study Research

Abstract

Across the country, teachers are implementing new, Common Core-aligned curriculum materials. Districts and schools are tasked with providing support to these teachers, and are achieving varying levels of coherence with the new materials. Drawing from case study research, we will examine professional development support alignment with CME Project Algebra 1, teachers’ curriculum interaction, and the relationship between support, teachers’ curriculum interaction, and instructional quality.
