Hannah Arendt aimed in her writings “to humanize the world by incessant and continual discourse” (1968, p. 30). Arendt dares us to consider what it means to nurture deliberative opinions and how to promote moral judgment; judgment, not in the sense of reaching absolute truths, but in a way that allows the emergence of tentative understandings through thoughtful dialogues in a public space that brings us together while also respecting the possibility of differences. The conceptual paper invites curriculum workers and teacher educators to ponder her ideas in the context of current educational research, theories and practices and offers a vocabulary that will “stirs them to think for themselves” (1968, p. 8).
