Abstract

This paper explores how national and state or provincial policies, as well as organizational policies and resources shape the experiences of community college students with children at two urban community colleges: one in the United States and the other in Canada. Drawing on document analysis and administrator interviews, we analyze the policies and the resources available to student-parents in each country. Through our comparative, international analysis, we highlight the effects of neoliberalism on the policies and resources across the two sites.
