Abstract

Since educational stakeholders are primary reporters as well as mandated reporters of child abuse, it is important to examine how these individuals understand, think about, recognize, remedy, and reduce child abuse. Previous data show where ethnic minority youth and children from impoverished backgrounds were overrepresented populations for child abuse cases in a Southwestern state. In this qualitative study, we examined the role of school stakeholders in advancing or preventing overrepresentation.
