This paper documents the story of six educators who have participated one or more times in the Mahatma Gandhi Summer Institute for Building Peaceful Communities at the University of Alberta. It provides an account of their individual and collective journeys as they seek to develop their own school-based approaches to peace and justice. The paper discusses challenges and successes in their respective attempts to introduce practices for peace and justice into their school communities.
