The Teaching and Learning in a K12 Blended and Online Environment MOOC ended in March of 2014. As an evaluative, retrospective single case study of this MOOC event, this study sought to determine in what ways a MOOC might address a social justice agenda by first establishing the audience and quality of the course. Using re-conceptualized measures of course success as called for by Ho et.al (2014), the data indicates that the course represented high quality instruction, while also serving participants from under-served populations. The authors conclude that Ho et.al (2014) are correct in rationalizing a new conceptualization of MOOC success measures as quality judgments based on the 6.2% completion rate of this event would be an over-simplified and skewed perspective.
