The higher education community has studied effect of campus climate on students for decades. However, there is little consensus on the definition of the term. Numerous dissimilar descriptions of the construct appear in single empirical studies. Further, explanations for how campus climate supports or impedes student success and strategies that create positive institutional environments are in single studies. Utilizing systematic review methodology, findings will codify information necessary for developing a holistic understanding of the construct, and promote transformation that translates into policies and practices that help institutions meet the needs of today’s global society.
