Abstract

Some possible formula estimators of validity concentration, and their performance in tracking the relative accuracy of OLS regression and some alternative methods is investigated. The insensitivity of OLS prediction accuracy to both multicollinearity and validity concentration, as well as the enhanced performance of alternatives to OLS, given validity concentration, are illustrated. The help afforded by the estimators in deciding upon alternative models is examined.
