This was a four year experimental study to determine if an integrated approach to changing secondary school culture from a more competitive, solitary, extrinsic environment to a more collaborative, caring, intrinsic environment could be accomplished in four years? And, whether or not this change in school culture would create a more inclusive, win-win school climate resulting in improved student test results and pro-social behavior? The results demonstrated that through an integrated school-community approach change in secondary school status quo can be accomplished with improvements in communication arts test results and student pro-social behavior including a marked decrease in bullying types of behavior.
