Empirical research has deepened our understanding of the critical role that school administrators play in driving organizational learning to expand educational opportunities (Bryk, Sebring, Allensworth, Luppescu, & Easton, 2010; Wahlstrom, Louis, Leithwood, & Anderson, 2010). Since school leaders are increasingly held accountable for the academic outcomes of all students, school leaders must be mindful of and responsive to how these multiple dimensions of diversity intersect with one another in manners that affect student learning (Scanlan & Theoharis, 2014). The objectives of this paper are to (a) synthesize empirical literature examining this intersectionality and (b) present a strategy for administrators to utilize this literature to guide productive practices in their school communities.
