The questions this presentation asks are who is Lucila Rodas Hidalgo viuda de Villagran? What were her contributions to education curriculum in Guatemala? And what can we learn from her contributions? To address these questions, this work enters in a tradition of oral history as an to attempt to recover memory of one woman’s role in Guatemala’s educational history. This work is a step toward “reclaiming” and “recovering” a family story that is also a historical, political story with implications in the history of Guatemalan education and curriculum.
