Abstract

This study was to explain a systematic relation between the undergraduates’ psychological characteristics and learning outcomes in social media learning environment. Learner’s personality, self-regulation, and epistemological beliefs were considered the psychological characteristics of learners affecting the effects of social media learning, whereas academic achievement, satisfaction of social media learning environment and motivation were considered as learning outcomes. The data was collected from total 106 learners in liberal arts classes and the canonical correlation analysis was used. As the tendency of motivational regulation was stronger, satisfaction on social learning environment was increased; as the belief of learning ability was stronger, satisfaction on learning environment was decreased; as the participatory level was decreased, achievement level was decreased.
