This study examines the design implementation of a makerspace-inspired summer camp for middle school girls within the broad scope of STEAM. The principles undergirding this informal learning design afforded the girls an opportunity to uptake from the resources- spatial, technological and human in order to choose their unique narrative paths to create digital stories as reflexive artifacts of socioemotional relevance. Our paper foregrounds the design in terms of: space, content and technologies where the content is available as a topical pool under the themes (Narrative, Music, Emotion and Design). We focus on one digital story as exemplifying the Constructionist syntonic learning in its variants of body-syntonic, ego-syntonic and cultural-syntonic to propose makerspaces as designs for enabling artifacts of socioemotional relevance.
