This study examines the impact of features of short-term study abroad programs and characteristics of individual participants on their intercultural learning. We use multilevel modeling to identify program features (e.g., formal program activities) and individual characteristics (e.g., socio-demographic characteristics, level of engagement in program activities) that affect students’ intercultural learning (e.g., cultural knowledge, interaction competence, personal beliefs, values, and self-identity).
