Increased support, identification, and dedicated resources for elementary and secondary students experiencing homelessness increased the number of homeless high school graduates. With higher high school graduations recorded, more homeless students are eligible to enroll in postsecondary education. While this subset of students has access to a liaison to assist the student and his/her family to gain stability, the liaison lacks the time, knowledge, and skills necessary to assist the homeless student through the college application and enrollment process; therefore, impacting access and persistence.
