Abstract

The work I present here is an exploratory research of the field of curriculum in Chile. This first approach will offer a brief map of the field to advance our understanding. I seek to understand the field historically as well as conceptually; by which I mean identifying concerns, tendencies, and potentialities in its history and current situation. I will focus on the literature of curriculum, acknowledging that further work on common grounds and connections between curriculum and other educational fields is required to better understand curriculum in Chile as both a phenomenon and as a field. Therefore, mapping the field in Chile represents an important step for the international conversation into which curriculum studies has evolved.
