Study examines the experiences of academically high achieving African American male high school students enrolled in an urban high school. Our findings highlight the experiences of these students as they pursued an International Baccalaureate (IB), bringing to light the challenges they faced and the academic and social resources available to them as they navigated these challenges. We offer strategies and recommendations for supporting African American students in advance placement courses.
