On Role Models and Black Males: A Theoretical and Historical Analysis

Abstract

The intent and purpose of this paper presentation is to draw on the discourse of Black male role model to deconstruct the implicit assumptions about the Black male role model and how they are tied to long standing historical discourse about the sociology of Black men, the social-psychology of Black boys and racial politics of African American social change.
