The rapid demographic changes in U.S. schools place much responsibility on educators who prepare students from culturally, linguistically and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds. Teachers' cultural lives influence what they may notice and how they attend to students in their classrooms. This qualitative study examines the life stories, and, along with additional artifacts, connects what they notice and attend to in their classrooms. Results focus on five themes that might assist teacher educators in their work with novice and practicing teachers.
