Several studies have taken place suggesting the success rates of Latinos in Catholic schools, however these findings have been critiqued due to the potential selection bias and inaccurate test scores (Greene, Peterson, & Du, 1998). The research also lacks to examine the overall experience of Latino students in Catholic high schools. Aspects such as race, race, language, culture, and identity are seldom included in the available research. The purpose of this paper is to use Critical Race Theory and LatCrit to document the ways in which a Catholic school affects the educational experience of Latin@s by identifying and analyzing the instances of subordination based of race, language, immigration status, accent and phenotype experienced by students and their families (Johnson, 1998).
