Abstract

Online learning is becoming increasingly popular. Non-traditional learners are demanding online education because it offers scheduling flexibility, eliminates geographical constraints, allows for differentiation, and makes sorting and retrieving information easier (Richardson & Swan, 2003). The positive attributes of online learning are being overshadowed by the looming notion that online learning leads to increased academic dishonesty with such practices as cheating, plagiarizing, misrepresentation, and unsolicited collaboration. This paper will focus on fostering a culture of academic integrity by outlining the best practices in fully online instructional design.
