Latent Profile Analysis of Self-Regulated Learning Method Across School Levels

Thu, April 16, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Sheraton, Floor: Fourth Level, Chicago VI&VII

Abstract

Recently, Korea tried to reform their national educations, focusing on developing learners’ self-regulation. National Assessment of Educational Achievement (NAEA) is administered annually emphasizing self-regulated learning for elementary, middle and high school students. The data from 2008 NAEA is analyzed using a person-centered approach, latent profile analysis (LPA) to identify naturally occurring combinations of self-regulated learning method profiles and how they relate to academic achievements and gender proportion across three school-levels. The outcomes will be compared among school-levels to determine if each school-level has similar or different profiles when compare to others and their relation to academic achievements and gender proportion. The analysis is not complete at this moment and the findings will be added to the study later.
