The purpose of this action research study was to examine our curricula and practices relative to preparing teachers. Primarily we were interested in understanding the potential of queer pedagogy for helping preservice teachers question and disrupt their own sense of “normal” in such a way as to recognize the possibility of (re)visioning classrooms that are curricularly, pedagogically, and humanly rich and diverse. While doing so, we found that viewing our work through a queer lens allowed us to (re)vision our own overt, hidden, null, and forbidden curricula relative to preparing teachers. Implications for teacher education practice and research are discussed.
