In this paper, we share teacher and administrator perspectives on the newly implemented Common Core State Standards and potential adjustments to teacher evaluation, namely the Danielson Framework for Teaching. Approximately 500 participants were recruited from four US school districts for this effort. We believe that voicing the perspective of practitioners employing CCSS is pivotal to marrying the two reforms, standards and teachers evaluation, in a more just and equitable way. We share an overview of practitioners’ struggles with CCSS, supports they use, and recommendations for the Framework for Teaching. Findings indicate that participants want more support around Common Core instruction, including professional development, resources, and teacher evaluation instruments that align with the standards through multi-modal examples and language adoption.
