Abstract

This presentation will share and explore the results of grade 5-8 teacher surveys and interviews designed to understand teacher experiences across the subject areas in supporting ELLs in the inclusive classroom. Research questions focus on teacher preparedness for teaching ELLS, strengths in teacher knowledge, and gaps in knowledge and practice from teacher perspectives. Findings of this study will inform the development of in-service and pre-service teacher professional development to best practices of support ELL instruction.
