Development of an Instrument to Measure Middle School Students' Conceptions of Engineering

Abstract

This report describes the development of a valid and reliable instrument based on analysis of three conceptual frameworks guiding K-12 engineering education. The student sample targeted for the study is of particular interest as they are representative of populations currently under-represented in STEM careers and often under-prepared for STEM careers by their K-12 school experiences.
