Preparing the Next Generation: Understanding and Engaging in Indigenous and Western Science

Abstract

In this paper I explore and present some of the the foundations of Indigenous science and Western science. Second, I argue why diverse scientific knowledge systems are necessary. Finally, I present an example of how I have engaged my students in the process of understanding, connecting, and utilizing both Indigenous and Western science.
