Abstract

In this paper, I explore the connection between post-racial ideology and postsecondary education. Specifically, I consider ways in which post-racialism extends previous forms of white privilege in higher education. Through historical review and contemporary observations, I argue that, despite traditional claims of value-neutral objectivity, higher education systems in the United States mediate the maintenance and reproduction of racial hierarchies.
