Lessons Learned From iPad Cart Integration: Year 2 of a Three-Year Project

Abstract

This study examined the opportunities, challenges, and strategies in iPad cart implementation at a large school district in the Midwest. This paper summarized the iPad project implementation framework and impact on teaching and learning activities in the following areas: (1) iPad’s potentials to engage students in content learning, (2) changes in instructional strategies in the iPad classrooms, and (3) best practices to enhance teaching and learning activities in the classroom. The one-year study has observed improvement in student collaboration, engagement, digital literacy, and productivity. The findings also showed challenges in technology anxiety, IT support, and student distraction.
Teachers continued to enhance their knowledge in iPad integration and student motivation remains high as they continue with the iPad cart integration.
