The Impact of Nonnormality on Effect Size Measures in Two-Factor Analysis of Variance

Abstract

There is a relatively large body of literature on the effects that assumption violations can have on the classical F-test used in analysis of variance (ANOVA). However, less research has been conducted on the influence assumption violations can have on effect size measures used in conjunction with ANOVA. The present study is a Monte Carlo simulation to investigate the impact that violating the normality assumption has on classical measures of effect size in the two-factor case.
