The paper will explore the meaning of equity in Daoism and how it can offer an alternative view of how we know and how we imagine reality. It will focus on two Daoist texts, the Daodejing and Zhuangzi, to define equity in what the authors describe as the optimal interaction with one’s world, and to explore the pedagogical implications of the definitions. The ideas of equity in Daoism will be considered in comparisons with ideas from selected lost gospels.
