Abstract

This paper examined how 5th grade Latina/o students engaged with a culturally relevant book entitled Friends from the other side. This study was nested within the multicultural literature that works towards challenging the marginalization of students of color. Critical race theory was used to frame how this study was conceptualized and developed.
