After the first two iterations of research (primarily focused on middle school children and their relatives both younger and older relationship to land and more specifically plants and water) a clear request for focusing on early childhood and community based approaches to land restoration emerged from our community collaborators. This paper details these developments as well as the emergent focus on food sovereignty. This paper considers the challenges (political, practical, and theoretical) across these three research strands and the need for continued work.
