Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
In this session tribunal teams of youth researchers will offer expert testimony before a panel of distinguished Elders/Judges and Youth Judges related to: (1) their understandings and expectations of educational systems and educational research, (2) their educational experiences and the injustices they have experienced, (3) their perspectives on how well educational research has served the public good in their communities, and (4) their recommendations for research that can improve these educational conditions and the science supporting such conditions. The Youth Tribunal will address this charge:
What is owed to these youth and their communities to repair educational injustice and harmful ideological research?
What are the responsibilities of educational researchers —not simply to “do no harm” —but to support the well being of these youth and the advancement of their communities?
