Session Type: Roundtable Session
This session shares our insights as white Early Childhood teacher educators striving to engage in critical research that aims to challenge the status quo. We will also highlight pivotal uncertainties that we identified in our work, asserting that exploring the tensions, hypocrisies, and anxieties that emerged as we engaged with African-American, Latino, and white teachers and families is one way to inform critical methodologies and dialogue that have the potential to further research and instigate action in our field. This kind of session is important in a world still rife with inequities and biases that impact young children and families on a daily basis. A distinguished critical race scholar of color will be the discussant.
