Session Type: Symposium
Teacher stress results in significant attrition as well as disenfranchised, fatigued educators. Teachers play a critical role in the academic, behavioral, and social emotional development of their students, therefore maintaining teacher well-being is critical. There is promising evidence emerging that mindfulness-based professional development programs can improve teachers’ emotional regulation, their interpersonal relationships, and the classroom climate. However, it is important to understand the process for how these changes take place. The purpose of this symposium is to explore the processes and mechanisms by which three mindfulness-based interventions affect changes for educators and their classrooms.
