Session Type: Symposium
This symposium identifies varying forms of mentoring in a global network of women academics. They engage mentoring through designed professional and academic activities; drawing on a synergistic model of leadership. Through an inquiry into these activities and an interrogation of knowledge construction and leadership in curriculum development these women have begun to delineate a path of support, collaboration, authentic dialogue and care in their work with one another and in the wider academic community. The 21 women involved in this work have built this network over four years; on platforms of technospaces, across ethnicities, career trajectories and disciplines within education. This symposium provides empirical evidence of the ways in which mentoring supports the professional and synergistic leadership development of women faculty.
