Session Type: Symposium
Over the past several years, scholars in Educational Foundations have produced scholarship dedicated to uncovering what larger forces are responsible for the elimination of foundations courses and the discipline’s inability to shape larger educational policy debates affecting children, schools and society. Other scholars in the field of study have also provided insight as to how to articulate its salience inside and outside of the educational community. However, many of the leading scholars who represent the breath and scope of the discipline have not contributed to this body of work. This presentation brings together these leading scholars. Here they share their needed insights as to what is causing the extinction of Educational Foundations and what is necessary to resuscitate it.
