Abstract:
The purpose of this panel is to provide reflexive insight as to what steps are needed to ensure critical pedagogy does not become a mere blip on academic landscape during the 21st century. Specifically, several leading scholars in the field of critical pedagogy, who embrace diverse ideas surrounding the cause of human oppression and what the solutions to ameliorating the human condition, will lend their own understanding for conceptualizing to ward off structural forces that are preventing the growth of critical scholarship and programs in higher education, blocking critical scholars from landing academic positions, and thwarting critical pedagogy impacting educational policy debates and life inside classrooms.
