Session Type: Symposium
The acts of devising performative research (Donmoyer and Yennie-Donmoyer, 1995) and its preparation for performance can be considered acts of inquiry in themselves. Over a four-day period, seven performative researchers were videotaped in the exploration of three texts (script, poetry and a journal article) and one set of improvisational dances through theatrical embodiment. Video presentations of their creative works and the conversations among iterations provide methodological examples that can be a) of use to those who utilize performance and b) demonstrate the rigorous nature of this work.
