Session Type: Symposium
The purpose of this panel is to provide new conceptual and theoretical insights and critical pedagogies for understanding and resisting corporate dominance over education and society. Specifically, the panelists generate ideas from ecofeminism, sociocultural/linguistic learning, critical pedagogy, and historical analysis to take inventory of what give rise to US imperialist pursuits, banking forms of pedagogies, racist forms of political propaganda, and corporatist forms of curricula and assessments. They also provide us guideposts for resisting unjust, policies, and practices that give rise to oppressive schooling practices, human suffering, and environmental degradation.
