6.010 - A Site Visit to the Chicago Manufacturing Renaissance Council

Abstract

The purpose of this proposed site visit is to provide members of the AERA Workplace Learning SIG the opportunity tour an advanced manufacturing training center and to learn about an innovation to workforce education and training in the U.S., known as the career pathways model. This tour and exchange will enhance our understanding of vital connection between education and work and offer new insight into strategies for linking education and workforce and economic development in ways that improve the outcomes for workers, firms, and community.
