39.022 - Adult Literacy and Adult Education SIG Business Meeting

Abstract
This meeting will begin by discussing the mission and goals of the ALAE SIG, and will provide updates on the SIG, conference program, membership, and our SIG’s website. We will then present two awards, the Exemplary Paper Award, and the Early Scholars Paper Award. Each awardee will provide a brief summary of his or her current research. The presentation will be followed by a formal presentation, with Q&A, on developments in research on adult literacy and learning. The business meeting will end with an open forum so that members and other interested participants can discuss concerns related to research on adult literacy and learning and how it fits with current trends captured in the 2015 AERA meeting in general.
