Abstract
The papers in this roundtable session present findings from studies of student achievement in science and mathematics. Studies focus on potential factors that may be influencing a narrowing of gaps in achievement between different sub-groups of students. New methodological uses of HLM are also offered as potentially powerful tools for better examining student achievement in math and science.
